Magnificat - Your Life is Everlasting
Thank you, Father, for my body, whose hands and feet were pierced by nails. Thank you, Father, for my body with outstretched arms drawing a cross over the world. Thank you, Father, for my moribund body, commending its final breath into your hands. Thank you, Father, for my body whose heart was pierced by the lance. Thank you, Father, for this human body through which your will was done, perfectly, unto the end. Thank you, Father, for my body, which you lifted up, free and in triumph. Thank you, Father, for this human body, now glorious, sin’s conqueror, in which you have made all your Creation victorious. Thank you, Father, for this resurrected body, in which you are returning all of humankind to your grace, and opening the Communion of the Saints to them. And now, O most loving Father, as a supreme testimony of your tenderness, welcome this human body into your breast, so that all may be perfectly accomplished according to the sublime design of your love. Mary Magdalene Lord, what you have just said… your prayer to your Father, to our Father, to our God… you have the words of eternal Life! Jesus Mary, O Mary, no, no, do not cry, do not cry. Rather, rejoice! All the hope I came to make rise up in you will be fulfilled! You also will be raised from the dead in your body! You will all become, forever, glorious bodies, I incorporated in you, and you incorporated in me! And you will come to join me there, in my dwelling place, your dwelling place, in God. 131
