Magnificat - Your Life is Everlasting

Jesus Just because you once let concupiscence take over your heart, do not now despise your body! Even fallen because of sin, your body, your human body, remains a wonder, the masterpiece of your Creator. Yes, I bless you, Father, God of heaven and of earth: to crown all your creation, you desired to mold the human body in me and for me. Thus, according to your benevolent plan, you created the human being, man and woman, predestined in love to form but one flesh, icon of the eternal wedding banquet of your only begotten Son with created humanity. I give you thanks, Father, for consecrating your Creation to me through this great mystery, and for sending me to incarnate it in human history so that, despite the jealousy of the rebel angels and the Fall of humanity, it would be accomplished for all eternity. Thank you, Father, for this human body, which you have made the form of your beloved Son. Thank you, Father, for this human body, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Thank you, Father, for this human body, which the shepherds and kings once adored! Thank you, Father, for this human body whose tongue is your Word. Thank you, Father, for this human body, which was given up to death; and thank you for its precious blood, which was spilled for your glory and for the salvation of the world. Thank you, Father, for my body in its agony, whose sweat became blood. Thank you, Father, for my outraged body, crowned with thorns. Thank you, Father, for my exhausted body, three times fallen, crushed under the weight of the sins of the world. 130 THE HOUR FOR THE FIFTH DAY
