The celebrant may explain briefly the dignity of God’s word, which is proclaimed and heard in the Christian congregation. A brief Liturgy of the Word immediately follows. Readings 271. Scripture readings are chosen that can be adapted to the understanding of the children and to their progress in the catechetical formation they and their companions have received.
