Daily-advent-Prayers

28 The First Week of Advent Friday Remember that you are in the presence of the Lord. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. In today’s Gospel reading, we see Jesus answering the request of two men in need of healing. The men follow Jesus, and they ask him to have mercy on them and heal them. They know there is nothing that Jesus cannot do. The same is true for us today. We have only to follow Jesus and believe in him. With great faith, we can bring Jesus our needs and trust that he can and will meet every one. A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew: As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. (Matthew 9:27 -30a) Faith is essential to living holy lives. By faith, we trust that God can and will heal our wounds and meet all our needs. We must choose to apply faith over fear, faith over worry, and faith over unbelief. Yet faith is not something we generate on our own—faith is a gift from God. Ask God today: Father, increase my faith!
